India's highest bungee jump in Rishikesh, which was a 107-meter incredible near-death experience
filled with adrenaline, was during the monsoon season. At that time, all adventure activities in
Rishikesh were closed, but the bungee jump was open only on certain days, depending on climatic
conditions. After all the drama of opening and closing, we finally secured a slot from the
Himalayan Bungee Jump company. We booked the slot and rode a rental scooter far from Rishikesh
town to reach the spot.
There were seven members present, but we were a group of three friends. I decided to be the first
to jump. Excitement and nervousness overwhelmed me. As they prepared me, the instructors were
friendly and full of energy, capturing candid pictures as I was being geared up. The weight of the
belts and locks felt heavy on me. Finally, the moment arrived.
Slowly, they walked me to the edge of the ramp. Despite their warning not to look down, I couldn't
resist. The height was daunting, and I felt a rush of adrenaline. What seemed like an impossible
task during our planning session now felt entirely different. The instructor instructed me to
focus straight ahead at the cliff in front of me and gently jump. I hesitated, but after a few
seconds, I decided to go for it.
As I jumped, bending my knees slightly, I experienced a thrilling free fall. The sensation of
falling rapidly with death seemingly before my eyes was overwhelming. The bungee cord retracted
just before reaching the bottom, pulling me back up, which was the most exhilarating part. The
experience was breathtaking and happened so fast.
After they slowly lowered me down, I was back on my feet, still feeling the rush of excitement. It
was a truly unforgettable adventure, and the bungee jump at the highest point in India was
completely worth it. They provided me with a pendrive full of high-quality photos, although
unfortunately, the video was corrupted, and I couldn't obtain it. They later refunded the amount
for the video, never mind but the experience was next level.
