Soormane Falls is only 5 kilometers from Kalasa in Chikmagalur, and it's a bit of a hidden gem. I
visited this place during my trip to Kudremukha.
On the way, we had a close call while traveling on a local bus from Balehonnur to Kalasa. The bus
was winding its way through the hilly terrain with tea plantations all around, deep valleys, and
sharp turns. Suddenly, something in the bus's steering system broke, and the driver couldn't steer
or turn the bus. He had to hit the brakes hard, and we narrowly avoided a dangerous accident. My
friends and I decided to find another way to get to Kalasa, and we ended up catching a ride on an
open mini truck. We enjoyed the view of the lush green forests on our way.
Once in Kalasa, we hired an auto, and in just 20 minutes, we reached the entrance to Soormane
Falls. From there, it's a short 500-meter walk through small streams and trees. Finally, we
arrived at the charming little waterfall.
Soormane Falls is a lovely sight with water tumbling down from a big rock, creating a mesmerizing
scene. The power of the waterfall and the mist it creates give the place a magical feel.
We couldn't wait to get closer to the falls, and we even took a refreshing dip in the pool formed
by the falling water. Standing beneath the falls and feeling the cool mist on our faces was truly
enchanting. We could feel the strength of nature in every drop of water.
As we enjoyed Soormane Falls' beauty, we had fun stacking rocks by the waterfall. These little
rock towers showed our connection to nature and our adventure, leaving a meaningful mark of our
visit.
After spending a few hours at Soormane Falls, we reluctantly started our journey back to Kalasa.
The return trip was just as enjoyable as we revisited the beautiful forest scenery and crossed the
streams we had seen earlier.
